Bhubaneswar, April 19: Former Odisha Director General of Police Sanjeev Marik Monday entered politics joining the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Ranchi.
Marik joined the party in the presence of JMM patriarch ‘Guruji’ Shibu Soren.
Notably, Marik’s father had been in politics and contested from his home constituency Godda in Jharkand in 1957.
Marik recently retired from service. He has been accused by a former top cop and Member of Parliament Anadi Sahoo as having received favors from notorious gangster Dhalsamant brothers now in jail.
Marik has filed a defamation case against Sahoo.
