Permanent Campus of Utkal University of Culture to be inaugurated on May 16:

Bhubaneswar: May 15: The new campus of Utkal University of Culture will be inaugurated on May 16. Governor of Odisha SC Jamir will inaugurate new campus constructed on 45 acres of area at Madanpur near Jatni. The Madanpur Campus was scheduled to be inaugurated in November by President Pranab Mukherjee, but the Programme was cancelled as construction work could not be completed in time. In present scenario also, 95 percent of work is completed. But, the authority decided to go for inauguration. Vice Chancellor of the University Debendranath Jena said in a Press Conference on 14th May, all sort of problems related to the new campus had been sorted out and two hostels are completely ready to accommodate the students. Also, he added, University has requested state administration to do a Police Outpost in the campus and special security arrangement will be done to give protection to the students. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Minister Culture and Tourism Askok Panda, Secretary Manoranjan Panigrahi and local MLA & MP will witness the occasion as Guests.

Dr.Jena further said, the current campus will be utilised as University’s City centre after the shifting of University to its permanent campus.
