Bhubaneswar: May 23: Capital City of Odisha witnessed the 19th day of Raahagiri at Janpath here yesterday. Despite the Cyclone Roanu alert in the state, thousands of people gathered to make it another great day of the City.
This time, the flavour of the Raahagiri was somehow different from the past. As a five-member German team led by Dr Wolfram Klein, South Asia (India) from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development visited the event. German delegates are here to provide technical assistance to Bhubaneswar Development Authority for the implementation of smart public transport system. The delegates enjoyed the event thoroughly and expressed happiness over the total event planned and designed.
Performance of Police band enthralled the gathering. They played Odiya and Hindi numbers.
Delivering speech, Mayor Anant Narayan Jena said that to make city into a smart city and for Sustainable development a perfect balance is required in between plant and animal.
Director General of Odisha Police Kunwar Brijesh Singh , Internationally renowned sand artist Padmashri Sudarshan Pattanaik, Police commissioner YB Khurania, DCP Satyabrat Bhoi, Mayor Anant Narayan Jena and Deputi Mayor K Santi were present on the event.
To celebrate the International day for Biodiversity, in this event the Bakul foundation a social service organisation distributed plants among the delegates/guests and a quiz competition on biodiversity was also organised.
