Bhawanipatna: June 04: Odisha Pradesh Congress will organise ‘Dhikkar Divas’ in all the 314 blocks of the state on June 10 to highlight the failure of the Center and the State Government. PCC President Prasad Harichandan announced it today at Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi District in presence of AICC spokesperson Bhakta Charan Das and Odisha-in-Charge BK Hariparasad.

Addressing a gathering, Harichandan termed the ‘Vikas Utsav’ of BJP as ‘Bakwas Utsav’. He straightway criticised central government for its indifference attitude towards Odisha and on other side, state government’s failure to take up its issues at appropriate forums. From the meeting place, the Party leaders took out a rally to collector’s office and handed over a memorandum seeking fulfilment of their eight point charter of demands that includes wagon factory in Narla, Jaring medical college issue, compensation to the deceased farmers and the NFSA irregularity issue. Former MP and Senior Congress leader while addressing the gathering said, ‘Many farmers of the state committed suicide and their families have not yet been compensated either with crop insurance or cash as compensation’. He raised many issues of incompetency of State government besides highlighting the scam happened in distribution of NFSA cards. Counter attacking Congress, BJD leader and Junagarh MLA Dibya Shankar Mishra said, ‘ Bhakta Das could not even bring a single rupee for Narla Wagan Factory even though he was Railway Minister during congress regime.’ He further added, Chief Minister has given us an Engineering College, an Agriculture College and a Cancer Hospital and soon, the autonomous college will be upgraded to a University. So, Congress can’t mislead the people by levelling allegations against BJD government of the state’.
