Odisha Govt asks districts to send preparedness report for monsoon in 10 days:

Bhubaneswar: June 04: Odisha Government geared up to face the monsoon of the current year. Pre-monsoon preparatory meeting was held yesterday, which was attended by ADMs, emergency officers of all the districts, ODRAF and Fire Brigade officials.

There are 34 items in the agenda of the meeting to review the preparedness to face the challenges of monsoon season. The meeting was held to take the stock of the preparedness for the monsoon in all the 30 districts of the state and district administrations were asked to see If there are any loopholes in preparedness and report government in 10 days after making the proper arrangements, Special Relief Commissioner Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra said to media.

The State Fire department was asked to keep all 292 fire stations in the state on alert 24X7 to face any eventuality. 10 more ODRAF units will be added to the existing 10 units to ensure deployment of one dedicated unit for one/two districts.

Notably, Pre-monsoon rains have already started in Bhubaneswar and other coastal parts of Odisha. The capital city recorded 58 mm of rains yesterday.
