Odisha Police records Lopamudra’s statement under section 161 CrPc

Bhubaneswar: June 16: On seeing that no action was been initiated by the Police authorities post her complaint, Lopamudra Mishra, daughter-in-law of Odisha industrialist Trailokya Mishra and wife of Sabhyasachi Mishra finally with courage took a step ahead and revealed her story of harassment and pain in front of the media. After being noticed by the media and facing its fever, the Twin City Comissionerate today, at last recorded her statement under section161 CrPc at the Mahila Police station. Police has also provided a home guard at her residence for her security.

Notably, Lopamudra had lodged a complaint at the Mahila Police station on May 10, alleging that she had been a victim of mental and physical torture for dowry by her husband and her in-laws. On Wednesday, she had lodged a complaint at Badagada Police Station here that few unidentified persons had barged into her father’s residence at Tankapani Road on Tuesday evening and threatened to kill her apart from warning to kidnap her son if she dared to contact the police officials against them.
