Bhubaneswar, Jul 8: The State government will bring a new bill during the upcoming monsoon session of the Assembly to safeguard the interests of the tenant farmers.
State government today took a decision to bring a new law to provide compensation in the event of crop loss, input subsidy, insurance cover, relief and other benefits to tenant farmers which were not available to them untill now.
Revenue Minister Bijayashree Routray informed that an agreement will be kept between the landlord and the tenant farmers in the presence of the local Revenue Inspector (RI). The decision of the inter-ministerial committee will be placed before the Cabinet for its approval.
