12 hours bandh paralyzed normal life in Kandhamal District

Bhubaneswar, July 11: Killing of five innocent tribal at Kurtumgarh a 12 hours bandh has severely immobilized normal life in  Kandhamal District of Odisha.

The road had been blocked by the opposition parties of Congress and BJP by burning tires at several places like Baliguda, Phulbani, G. Udyagiri and K nuagaon, sources said. Many shops, business establishment, banks and school colleges had closed during the Bandh.

To maintain any untoward situation, around seven platoons Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 20 platoons of special Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and 16 platoons of police force has been deployed in the district.

According to sources, BJP state president Basant Panda with his high level team will visit the spot on Tuesday to review the matter.

 CPI (M) had conducted a rally to commissionrate police headquarters by demanding Rs 20 lakh monetary help for the deceased family and Rs 10 lakh for the injured. 

After getting the information about the movement of Maoists at Malapanga forest, SOG had ambushed them and during crossfire five villagers including two women and a child were  killed.
