Al-Queeda Suspected Terrorist Abdul Rehman headed to Delhi Tihar Jail

Cuttack, July 13: The remand period ending today, suspected Al Queda terrorist in Indian Subcontinent, operative Abdul Rehman has been taken to Delhi via train. The Special Task Force from Delhi had brought him to Cuttack Railway Station after producing him before the Salepur JMFC court. After his hearing at the Tis Hazari Jail in New Delhi he will be taken to Tihar Jail.

On June 21 the Crime Branch had brought him from Delhi for enquiry over his alleged links with the terrorist squad. The state investigating agency took him on 10-day remand in the first phase and seven -day in second phase for interrogation. The CB is reported to have extracted important information about his terror links during interrogation.

The 37-year old operative, who was running a Madrassa at Tangi near Cuttack, was arrested by a joint team of Delhi and Odisha Police Special Cell from Paschimkachcha village in Cuttack district on December 16, 2015 for his alleged involvement with the Al Queda terrorist organization in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The madarssa has since then been closed and the students, most of them heading from neighboring Jharkhand were sent back to their homes. Rehman had agreed of having links to various terror operatives and had also given shelter to a Pakistani accused involved in the Kandahar Plane Hijack case of 1999 in Cuttack.
