UAE, July 18: Odisha Samaj of UAE (OSUAE), the Core organisation of Odias in UAE, celebrated Ratha Yatra for the 5th consecutive year from 6th of July 2016. “The Jagannatha Ratha Yatra is a centuries- old Festival which takes place originally in Jagannatha Puri, India & also in different parts of the world. It celebrates the return of Krishna (Jagannatha) along with his brother and sister (Balabhadra & Subhadra) to Vrindavan, The place of the pastimes during his young days.
Ratha Yatra was celebrated by Odias Living in UAE for the 5th consecutive year on the 6th of July 2016. The festival was organized in Dubai, UAE by Odisha Samaj of UAE (OSUAE). As the part of the celebration, Rituals were followed and The Chariot of Lord Shri Jagannatha was pulled by 100s of devotees. More than 120 Odia families residing all across UAE participated for the Ratha Jatra festival. Traditional Prasad Sevan was also arranged for all the devotees who joined for the grand event. More than 300 devotees were blessed with Lord Jagannatha Prasad.
Odia Population in UAE is growing year on year and OSUAE stands committed to identify & involve more and more Odias into all the functions that OSUAE organizes every year. The organization has a fixed schedule of Programs that is held every year like Utkal Diwas, Ratha Yatra, Ganesh Puja, Handishala (Authentic Odia Food Festival) & Annual Picnic. Apart from that, OSUAE also work for Social causes like Blood Donation Drive and Free health
