Bhubaneswar, July 27: On Tuesday, the Odisha Government wrote to the Union Minister of Sports in favor of Jauna Murmu, the Odiya female sprinter who was excluded from the Rio Olympic although she qualified for the grand event in 4X400 meter relay.
Regarding this the Odisha Sports minister, Sudam Marandi made a request to his counterpart at the Centre to settle the matter earliest possible. Murmu visited the Secretariat and met various officials on Tuesday and lodged her complaint with the minister at his residence. Shattered Jauna conveyed that she is hopeful that the state government will do its bit to help her.
