Cuttack, July 28: One police station of each state would be turned in to Model Police Station for better implementation and monitoring of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS), a mission under the national e-Governance Plan. This decision has been taken by the Odisha police.
To speed up the process, KB Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) has given order to district superintendents of Police (SPs) to locate one existing police station to re-design it into a Model Police Station.
The reason behind to build a Model Police station , is non-up to mark use of Core Application Software (CAS) , non generating Internet Imaging Protocol (IIP) I to XXI while using CAS. Because of these problems the Citizen Portal are not been implemented successfully. Through the Model Police station, these problems can be solved and it would also help in ensuring a total implementation of CCTNS relative activities.
Notably, few days back, government had decided to connect its all police stations through the Crime & Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS), a flagship IT prrogramme of the Indian Police, by March 2017 thus aiming to take police service to the next level. Like other government services that have already being available online, Odisha Police has taken steps to provide its services through ‘Citizen Portal’, source said.
