Commissionerate arrests accused of Nayapali Murder Case

Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: On Saturday the person who had supposedly thrashed a man brutally to death and had also majorly injured another person at the IRC Village area, is now arrested by the Police Commissionerate at the Nayapalli Police Limits. The accused is named as Simanchal Jena from the Ganapati Nagar Slum in Nayapalli area.

DCP, Satyabrata Bhoi reportedly said that the police was able to identify the culprit after examine of the CCTV installed at a house adjacent to the area where the incident happened. While Basant succumbed to spot death, Lambodara was taken to the Capital Hospital immediately and from there had been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and his condition is stated to be critical.

Notably, the accused had enmity from long with Basant Pradhan and Lambodara of Ganapti Nagar Slum and was in search for such opportunity from long as said by the DCP. The situation was such that the two of them were walking on the roadside when Simanchal attacked on them with a Lathi from behind. Immediately with this sudden band on their head, Basant fell by the side of the road while Lambodara fell in the middle of the road. With extreme anger in Simanchal, he made two more blows on Basant’s head and one more on Lambodara’s head and escaped.
