Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: The BJD team which was constituted on Friday consisting of Finance minister Pradip Amat, Industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra, Food Supplies minister Sanjay Dasburma and party leaders like Rohit Pujari, Kishore Mohanty, Sushant Singh, Padmanabh Behera, Pratap Keshari Deb, Pramila Mallik and Raseswari Panigrahi among the 12 will gather today for a meeting on the Mahanadi river issue which would be chaired by RS MP, Prasanna Acharya before the team makes a visit to Chhattisgarh on Aug 7 and 8 to conduct meetings with the concerned officials of the neighbouring state.
Official sources reveal that the meeting will highlight the facts which need to be discussed during the discussion with the Chhattisgarh officials in order to solve the issue. Consultations would be done with the technical advisory panel with former engineers of Water Resource Department, Sarat Mohanty, Sridhar Behera and Ramesh Rath. Post visit, the BJD team will conduct discussions with other parties, experts and members of civil society and then will prepare a detailed report on the water projects already taken up by the Chhattisgarh government led by its CM on Mahanadi, to be submitted to Naveen Patnaik.
