Six member team to visit Puri to take stock of erosion at Swargadwar

Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: To find a permanent solution for the prevention of erosion of beach near Swargadwar, a six member team comprising of engineers and scientists from the Water Resources Department will visit Puri and will take stock of the situation as well as review the matter.

On Wednesday, in a high level review meeting of the Puri-Konark Development Authority (PKDA), presided over by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, the Puri collector Arvind Agrawal had advised to send a team to visit Puri to look into the situation near Swargadwar.

After the team returns from Puri, the final decision regarding the matter would be taken.

Puri MLA, Maheswar Mohanty recommended the construction of an iron sheet piling to prevent the sea waves from eroding the land.

Notably, a team of State BJP had visited Puri on Wednesday and took stock of the situation. They will submit a report to the party State unit president and also informed to seek the intervention of the Union Government for solutions to the sea erosion.
