Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: Today, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Das Burma’s brother-in-law Satyapriya Jayasingh appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for having alleged connections in the Artha Tatwa (AT) group chit fund scam.
It’s stated that the CBI while interrogating AT Group chief Pradip Sethy at the Jharpada jail found out about Jaysingh, the director of the Team Media Hospitality Private Limited whose company had received substantial amounts of money from the AT group. On the basis of this interrogation, the CBI served a notice to Jayasingh to appear before it on August 8 to record his statement under Section 160 of the CrPC.
However, he had informed the agency that he would appear after August 10. It’s likely that Jaysingh would be interrogated regarding the total amount of money transacted between the two firms, along with the mode of transaction and whether the money was transferred to any other firms owned by him. He may be called for interrogation again if needed, sources said.
