Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: On Sunday, after the recommendation of a three member team, headed by the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), who had examined the health condition of Parala Maharaja, Gopinath Gajapti Narayan Deb, the King was taken to Chennai for treatment on Monday. He was accompanied by a personal secretary and two assistants. Earlier, he was taken to Vizag on Sunday night but was shifted to Chennai for further treatment yesterday.
It is said that some staff of the palace, had kept the Parala Maharaja under house arrest at his palace to corner his properties.
Sarbagyana Jagannath Gajapati Deb, King’s younger brother on Sunday, alleged that the King had been kept under house arrest by the manager of the King’s Pratisthana Ananga Manjari Patra.
Meanwhile, refusing this allegation, the manager stated this to be a rumor and also informed that the Maharaja was advised to stay in the house for one year by his daughter and the Puri Gajapati. The two had also suggested the Parala Gajapati to ask the Raj Purohit (Royal Priest) to undertake the Chherapanhara ceremony.
The younger brother of the Maharaja has been attempting to grab the properties of the King in Paralakhemundi and Chennai after the King’s only son had passed away, the manager further stated.
