Balloon gas tank explosion during I-Day celebration; two injured in Rourkela

Rourkela, Aug 16: In a mishap, a gas cylinder meant to fill balloons, exploded during the Independence Day celebration at Rourkela yesterday, injuring two persons, including a youth.  The incident happened outside of the Uditnagar ground, where the gas tank blew 30 feet away from the premises of the residence of the Rourkela Tehsildar.  

Mahasin Alli, who was seriously injured, was taken to the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). According to sources, he sustained injuries in his head and eyes. Police had reached the spot after the incident and carried out an investigation. However, the balloon seller had managed to escape from the spot.
