Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: In a bizarre incident on late Saturday night, the son named Kalia of a daily labourer allegedly stabbed his parents in Itapur village under Korei block of Jajpur district.
The father, Vijay Mukhi, of the 20-year old Kalia had succumbed to injuries and his mother, Pramila Mukhi was taken immediately to the Korei hospital but later shifted to district headquarters hospital as her state was critical. It’s stated that this took place as Kalia had been denied money by his parents which made him furious.
The youth first attacked his parents with a kitchen knife and later set the house on fire before fleeing the spot. On being intimidated, the fire rescuers reached the spot and brought the fire in control. Police have started a manhunt to get hold of Kalia.
