Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: On the VRCH premises today the National Association for Blind (NAB) in association with Vocational Rehabilitation Center (VRCH) for Handicapped and Ama Dunia hosted a Miss India contest which had the highlight that the young girls participating in the contest were visually impaired.
Around 50 girls with full zeal and enthusiasm, aged between 18 to 30 years, took part in the contest out of which 14 went through the first round. They walked the ramp having full confidence and attitude. It’s stated that these 14 will participate further in a week-long training programme where sessions on dressings and style of walking on the ramp will be taught. The second phase of the competition will be conducted at KIIT School of Fashion Technology on August 28 where four girls will be listed to go into the finals being held in Mumbai in the month of September. In the final round whoever are selected will have to undergo contests such as question answer, talent show and ramp walk.
Fashion designer and social worker Tulika Mohanty, Ananya Patnaik, Itishree Sahoo and Prabhati Mishra judged the competition.
