Parala Palace: Crime Branch team will head to Chennai to question Parala Maharaja

Bhubaneswar, Aug 27: To figure out the Parala palace mystery going on since the past few days, a team of Crime Branch (CB) will soon head to Chennai, where Parala royal Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb is undergoing treatment at Apollo hospital, to question him, sources informed on Friday.

Earlier, Kalyani Gajapati Deb, daughter of the Maharaja, who had reached here on Thursday evening from Chennai, was interrogated by the Crime Branch six-member team of the special investigation team (SIT) on Friday about the mysterious deaths of Parala Maharaja’s former manager Ananga Manjari Patra and her three siblings few days ago. As per sources, she told the team that the Maharaja was not under house arrest.

The SIT team found no large amounts in the bank accounts of the family members of Ananga during examination. The SIT team also visited the house of Ananga Manjari at Jangamasahi in Paralakhemundi.

Brother of Ananga Manjari, Amulya Patra was also called by the Crime Branch officials for questioning. Handwriting samples were also collected by the investigating agency.

Also, according to sources, the persons whose names  have been mentioned in the suicide note of Ananga Manjari will also be questioned by the agency.
