Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: By creating 3,213 posts in eight different services, the Odisha Municipal Cadre was launched by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday. Following which, new appointments would be made in the field of health, cleanliness, finance and e-governance.
The Odisha municipal cadre was launched in the workshop on excellent civic governance which was organised by the Urban Development department.
Besides this, plan plus software was also launched by the Chief Minister which would help in Preparation of Schemes for Urban Local Bodies’ (ULBs), infrastructural development and proper utilization of funds.
On this occasion, 27 ULBs were also felicitated for their remarkable work.
It may be noted that, Proposal to form an independent Special Municipal cadre by the Housing and Urban Development department had been approved by the State Cabinet in November 2015.
