Berhampur, Sept 5: Today the Badagada police in the Ganjam district took a person, named Tophan Sahoo, into custody for allegedly getting involved in the acid attack on a minor girl. Sahoo is an aide of prime accused, Lipun Bisoyi who has been arrested yesterday.
It’s stated that on Saturday night, the three miscreants entered the victim’s house secretly which was located at the Gangpur village under the Badagada police station limits while she was sleeping and splashed acid on her and escaped from there. The victim’s name is Mamuni Bisoi aged 17. She has been hospitalized to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.
Her condition is stated to be critical as of now. It’s suspected that the reason of the incident is likely to be a one-sided love affair. Lipun, the prime accused had threatened Mamuni over calls a few days back.
