Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: The 22nd Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Award Festival started with great enthusiasm and excitement among the art connoisseurs thronging to Rabindra Mandap on 5th September 2016.

The first presentation in the inaugural evening was the trio performance in Odissi Dance by Guru Aruna Mohanty, Meera Das and Sujata Mohapatra. There first item was Mangalacharan followed by Harsadwani Pallavi and last item was Nari depicting three mythological characters, Sita, Savari and Meera. All three women carry the qualities of aforesaid strength and that empowers them as the most brilliant women of timeless world. Vocal supported by Rupak Kumar Parida and Musical supported by Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra and Bijaya Kumar Barik in Mardala, Ramesh Chandra Das and Agnimitra Behera in Violin, Srinivas Satapathy in Flute and Ekalabya Muduli in Manjira.

The second presentation of the evening was Carnatic Violin recital by A Kanyakumari. She was accompanied by Vidwan T. K. Shekhar on Tavil, Pt. Rajendra Nakad on Tabla. The auditorium was full with the art lovers who were deeply engrossed with the wonderful renderings in the evening.

The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Shri R. Balakrishnan, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Odisha, Shri Amarendra Kumar Pattnaik, Director, Culture and Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra, Director, Srijan. The programme was compered by Er. Srinivas Ghatuari and Nazia Alam.
