Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: Odisha government ruled out the public hearing requested by the Union government and Andhra Pradesh Government on Polavaram project, on Saturday.
The Polavaram project matter has been subdued in the Supreme Court and before public hearing it requires court permission, informed Suresh Mohapatra, Principal Secretary of Forest and Environment Department.
Adding in his statement Mohapatra further said that, the state had not taken in to consideration during the time of technical clearance of the project by the Central Water commission.
The project got clearance in 2005 though it requires public hearing before issuing environmental clearance on that particular area.
