Decline in the rate of black money generation, SIT has submitted 6 reports to the Centre: Justice Arijit Pashayat

Cuttack, Sept 13: On Monday, Justice Arijit Pashayat, vice-chairman of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money, held a meeting regarding the black money issue. In the meeting the director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was also present.

After the meeting, Justice Pashayat informed that the rate of black money generation has declined. Till now 6 reports based on black money investigation, have been sent to the Centre and by the end of 2016, last report will be submitted to the Centre, he further added.

Informing about the black money situation in the State, he said that all the activities of godmen, real estate businessmen, mafia is under the surveillance of the SIT and the black money holders are now getting aware of the consequences for generating and holding black money.

As per the recent information from Justice Pashayat, SIT has recommended Centre to curb black money from the economy following which, cheque format would be used in case of money transaction for Rs 3 lakh above and a person will not be allowed to keep cash money of more than Rs 15 lakh.

As per sources, around 11 agencies are working under SIT headed by Justice MB Shah and Justice Pashayat.
