Cuttack, Sept 18: Yesterday the Ravenshaw authorities formed a “discipline squad” to put a stop on the disturbing elements in the college. The squad is set up to maintain discipline inside the college premises and it comprises of 40 lecturers. This decision was taken seeing the magnitude of violence on Sept 14. Informing the media, the Ravenshaw Vice Chancellor Professor Prakash Chandra Sarangi said that ID cards have been made compulsory to enter into the campus after evening whereas arrangements are being made to install CCTVs inside the campus. Spot searches are also being carried out inside the hostels.
While the VC was firm and satisfied with their arrangements, outraged students demanded immediate withdrawal of the suspension order on four students following September 14 violence, thus showing anger on the attitude of the college officials. This was informed by a MCA student named Rajalaxmi Sahu.
