Narottam Mohanty, Odisha’s first football referee passes away

Baripada, Sept 20: Narottam Mohanty, the State’s first football referee in the pre-independence era and the oldest citizen of the district headquarters town of Mayurbhanj, took his last breathe on Monday morning following a cardiac arrest at his residence here. He was 100 years old.

To pay their last tribute to the departed soul, many eminent personalities visited his residence at KMBM road.

Sudam Marandi, Sports Minister expressed his deep condolences over the passing away of the first qualified football referee of Odisha.
