Rourkela, Sept 24: In a fraud case, three inter-state fraudsters have been nabbed by the police in Rourkela today.
As per the information, the trio duped thousands of student and parents by promising them to provide seat in medical colleges in the State following which they duped around Rs 50 lakh from the students and parents.
10 passbooks registered in different banks have been seized by the Kuarmunda police, which revealed that the bank accounts had savings between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
First, the three fraudsters prepared a list of those students who secured qualifying marks in AIPMT and NEET exam and then by promising the students of getting them enrolled in various medical colleges, they asked the students and their parents to deposit money in bank accounts.
For further investigation, two police teams from Rourkela have gone outside the State, sources said.
