Bhubaneswar: September 28: Authority of three colleges of Bhubaneswar decided not to go for Students’ Union Poll this year citing pre-poll violence and disturbances in the premises.
College of Basic Science and Humanities issued a notice on cancellation of the campus poll mentioning pre-poll violence, the City Women’s College decided not to hold the students’ union poll this year whereas students of the Capital Law College are staging dharna demanding campus polls after the college authorities decided not to hold the election.
Colleges and universities across the State will issue notification on campus polls today after examining the situation on their campuses.Poll aspirants will file nominations tomorrow, as per the notification issued by Higher Secondary Education department earlier.
Final list of poll candidates will be declared on October 1 after scrutiny of the nominations. The campus poll will be held on October 5.
