Malkangiri, Oct 3: Investigation is going on into the death of a tribal whose body was found with his throat slit open outside his house at Katapali village under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district yesterday morning.
It’s stated that the victim is Budura Khalamali. He was sleeping on the varandah outside his house on Saturday night. However, the family members found him lying with blood all over with his throat slit open on Sunday morning. Although it’s suspected by the police officials that the Maoists might have killed the tribal as suspecting him to a police informer, there was no poster or leaflet found near the corpse which the Maoists usually do.
Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra informed the media that a police team has been immediately sent to the village for an on-spot investigation in order to find out whether the Maoists are involved in the killing of the tribal.
