Nabarangpur, Oct 13: To cure stomach ailments, a 27-day-old baby girl, identified as daughter of Santoshi Bag and Arun Bag of Kangra village under Tentulikhunti block in Nabarangpur district was branded with hot iron.
As per sources, the family members of the child admitted the baby to the District Hedquarters Hospital on Thursday as the baby was in a critical condition.
Notably, the inhuman practice of branding with hot iron to cure ailments in remote areas has given rise to cases which end up in the death of the child or person.
