Sum Hospital built on no official approvals

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: Revealing another information regarding the Sum Hospital mishap, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority informed that the Sum Hospital building has been built without any official permission.

No occupancy certificate has been given to the hospital. Rules says that the building storyed around  15 meter high will be treated as multi-storey building and fire clearance for these type of buildings is mandatory, said Sudhir Mohanty, BDA planning member.

It’s stated that the Sum hospital authorities had applied for permission in the year 2010 but no permission regarding this multi-storey building had been given to them. BDA authorities has directed them to establish fire equipment inside the hospital.
