Athagarh, Oct 24: While holding Jan Sampark padayatra which was started by BJD, Ranendra Pratap Swain, BJD MLA on Monday was detained by a group of locals at Sasanka, Chhagaan panchayat and opposed him to enter into the village alleging that PDS commodities have not been regularly distributed and rejection of Gramasabha after being declared.
During the opposed, supporters of Swain clashed with the protestors following which a woman was reportedly injured during the clash. Police forces have been deployed at the post to keep situation under control.
A banner is also seen at the place posted by the protestors stating that they will show black flags and eggs and tomatoes will be hurled in future if their demand is not settled as soon as possible.
