Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: Owner of Sum hospital has been granted bail on Friday by the Bhubaneswar ADJ-2 court but the bail has been granted on conditional basis. As per the information, Rs 1 lakh bail bound has been asked by the court with two sureties. Along with Nayak, Puspa Raj Samantasinghar, Sum Hospital’ medical superintendent also has been granted bail by the court.  As per the court’s condition, whenever required for questioning Nayak will appear at the police station and will cooperate in investigation.

Yesterday the court had reserved its order on the same after it judged arguments from both sides for two hours. While the prosecution was in against of the bail application of Nayak based on the case diary submitted to the court, on the other hand, the accused’s counsel argued in favour of the bail rather blaming the Fire Services Department for its delayed arrival at the spot and also for not establishing proper fire safety measures at the hospital premises.

It may be noted that the police had arrested Nayak following the fire mishap at the hospital on last Monday due to which 27 people have lost their lives so far.
