Similipala National Park reopens from November 1

Mayurbhanj, Oct 29; Closed since June 16 due to the reason of washed away roads in monsoon season, the Similipala National Park in Mayurbhanj will re-open from November 1 for the tourists.

As per the information, after its reopening, some rules will be imposed on vehicular movement. Every day between 6am to 9pm, from Kaliapani check gate, 35 four-wheeler vehicles will be allowed inside the park and from Peethabata check gate, maximum 25 four-wheeler vehicle will be permitted to travel inside the park. For this, the ticket booking can be done from Jashipur counter, informed, Similipal Tiger Reserve Deputy Director, Ajit Kumar Satpathy.  

Besides that, the leaving time for tourists from the Badheipani and Jaranda will be fixed at 3pm and for Chahala waterfall, the leaving time will be fixed at 4 PM, he added.

Forest guide has been made mandatory for each tourist vehicle and only dry and cooked food will be allowed inside the park, sources said.

Proper arrangements have been made for those who want to stay in the park for which an advance booking needs to be made at Similipala Forest Office or at www.ecopunterodisha.com.
