Maoists observes bandh, bus services affected in Malkangiri and Rayagada

Malkangiri, Nov 3: On Thursday, the bandh call in Odisha and four other states by Maoists has affected the government run bus services in Malkangiri and Rayagada districts.

As per the information, following the bandh, six routes of Rayagada and Malkangiri have been prohibited for running government run busses and the busses running in  Chandanpur, Bandhugaon, Kashipur, Sandubadi and Laxmipur route from District headquarters has been called off as well. In bordering area also, bus services has been taken off by the authorities in Lamptaput, Koraput including bus services connecting Jeypore, Korpaut and Visakhapatnam for Anakadeli.

It may be noted that, protesting the death of 30 naxals in an encounter held jointly by Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on 24th October, the Maoists has called out a bandh in five states.
