Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: Around 1,367 paddy procurement centres will be set up in 10 coastal districts in the State for paddy procurement. This was informed by Sanjay Das Burma, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister after attending a meeting on the Kharif season paddy procurement on Tuesday at Cuttack.
March 31 of 2017 has been fixed as the last date for farmers to sell paddy at the market places. All the dues will be sent directly to the farmers back account directly, Das Burma informed. Paddy procurement will be done by providing importance to the farmers who have Aadhaar card.
For tenant farmer, priority will be given register the names of the sharecroppers for smooth selling off their paddy.
