Rectification likely in NFSA beneficiaries list

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: The government of Odisha has said if required, it would rectify the list of beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act mooted by the Union Government in the next three months.

State Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma said on Friday that the government has set up digitalization ration card management system cell in every block and municipalities and Notified Area Coucil jurisdictions.

“If any eligible person s name is not in the list, we will provide the ration card to the person within three months of applying at free of cost,” he announced on the sidelines of a meeting in Berhampur in Ganjam district.

He said a massive exercise for selection of the new beneficiaries to get the ration card was held after 18 years across the state.

“People should not worry as the government will include all eligible person under NFSA he assured.

Notably, the Union government has allotted for inclusion of 3,26,41,000 beneficiaries under the NFSA in the state.
