Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Odisha and Sri Lanka share a long history, participants at a seminar said on Friday.
They said at the two-day international seminar titled ‘Kalinga-Lanka: Reviving Old Linkages and Exploring New Opportunities’ was inaugurated at the Utkal Univerisity in the Odisha Capital.
The speakers at the seminar laid emphasis on development of Buddhist tourism development along with commerce and education.
High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka in India Esala Weerakoon graced the inaugural ceremony and shared his inclination towards building a strong bond with Odisha’s culture, tradition, tourism and trade.
