Winter session of Odisha Assembly adjourned sine die 16 days ahead of proposed schedule

Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: Before the actual concluding day the winter session of the Odisha Assembly was adjourned sine die 16 days ahead. The session of the House which commenced on Dec 1 had 24 working days in line till the end of its session on Dec 31. Instead only after 9 working days it was adjourned sine die. This proposal to wind up the House session suddenly was given by government chief whip, Ananta Das. The Opposition chief whip, Tara Prasad Bahinipati objected the say. Only four bills have been passed while there was a discussion on one of the issue during adjournment motion brought by the Opposition.

The opposition parties both Congress and BJP opposed the decision of the government saying that it was taken with the consent of all. Congress was not unanimous said Congress leader and leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra and BJP was against it said BJP Legislature Party KV Singhdeo. On the contrary refuting the allegations made by the both oppositional parties, BJD spokesperson Amar Prasad Satpathy said the decision to adjourn the House sine was taken with the consent of the all members.
