Former Odisha DGP passes away at 88 in Cuttack

Cuttack, Jan 5: At age of 88, the former IPS officer and DGP of Odisha, Govinda Senapati breathed his last on Wednesday after being attacked by a heart stroke. He was 88 years old. The last rites of the departed soul was performed at the Sati Chaura in Cuttack.

To pay the soul their last tribute, many eminent persons including Bijoyshree Routray, Revenue Minster and son-in-law of Senapati and Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Vigilance DG visited the residence of Senapati.

Senapati, on October 5, 1953 had joined the Indian Police Service.  He has also authored a popular book named ‘Rotarian Policeman’.
