Equal Opportunities should be given to both the Genders

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: Attending as the Chief Guest at the Valedictory session of the International Conference on “Gender & Management” Issues & Challenges, Ramesh Mahapatra, President, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd, Bhubaneswar, emphasised on equal opportunities for women & men .He also talked about the magnitude of disparities among gender and the gender gap which has tremendous consequences and how it needs to be addressed properly. His address revolved around both the genders having equal opportunities including participative decision making approach. In his deliberation, he appreciated the topic chosen for the conference and commended the efforts of the organising team.

Dr. Rado Bohinc, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe gave his heartiest congratulations on the success of the conference. In his concluding remarks, he emphasised on gender equality and democratic decision making in the workplaces. He also touched points about partnership between men and women in this new age. Finally, he quoted that hard work and dedications are ways to paint success stories.

Aleksandra Kanjuo Marcela, Professor of Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in her concluding remarks said that there was a need to have gender inclusivity and concentrated on how to balance the gender spectrum not only in workplaces but also that there was a need to bring a change in the mind set of people. Lastly, she also appreciated the efforts behind making the conference an interesting one.

Shri. S. N. Sahu, Joint Secretary, Rajya Sabha, spoke about gender diversity and its positive impacts in the workplace. He congratulated the team for the impressive work done by them and wished them success in their attempts at nation building. He suggested that in future also, there should be many such thought provoking conferences.

Dr. Parameswar Nayak, Director BIMTECH Bhubaneswar, in his speech said that both men and women are complementary to each other and that men were women’s best friend and vice versa. He also said that there was a need to understand the complexities a women encounters not only in the workplace but also in every sphere of life.

Dr. J. Kiranmai, Convener of the Conference presented the Chief Rapporteur’s Report at the end of the two days Conference while, Dr. Archana Choudhary, Convener of the Conference, proposed vote of thanks.
