New Delhi, Nov 14: India has signed  a Memorandum of Understanding with Republic of Korea (RoK) after negotiations in New Delhi to enhance bilateral air service cooperation  between the two countries.

The major issues that were formalized  include Capacity Entitlement, Points of Call, Additional Beyond Points, Intermediate Point, and Domestic code share points.

The MoU comes against the backdrop of two rounds of inconclusive talks on 21st December, 2012 in New Delhi and on 20/21 October 2014 in Seoul,  as the two sides could not come to an agreement on various issues including number of frequencies to be increased and the quantum of fifth freedom rights on intermediate points.

With the signing of the above MoU, the air connectivity between the two countries will be enhanced further and this is expected to boost economic and people-to-people cooperation.
