Bhubaneswar, Feb 2: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced new rules for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled to be held on May 7 this year. The First rule being students can apply online on the newly created website cbseneet.nic.in. Besides, the students must be having their Adhaar Card with themselves as the CBSE has made it compulsory about the date, name and gender mentioned in the Adhaar Card at the time of the JEE Mains exams. On completion of these formalities, students can go head for registration. The last date of application is on Mar 1.The test would be conducted at 1500 centres in 80 cities across the country.

The second new rule is the age limit for the entrance exam. While the maximum age limit for the general category candidates to appear in the test is 25, for the reserve category students the age limit is 30. CBSE has also said that for more opportunities for students appearing for NEET, there would be three chances. Also, upon the request of the Odisha government, the CBSE has allowed the Odisha candidates to appear in the test in the Odia language. It has allowed the students to appear in 10 languages including English and Hindi. However, the CBSE has said if there is any doubt in the minds of the students about the meaning of any question put in other language, the question papers set in English language would be considered as final. But setting the question paper in Odia would not be beneficial for the students as the medium of language in Plus Two Science syllabus is English.
