Panchayat Polls: Raid at political party’s worker house; Rs 12.30 lakh cash seized

Jharsuguda, Feb 10: In view of the Panchayat Polls, the cops yesterday seized Rs 12.30 lakh from the house of a worker of a political party in Kandheikela village. Jharsuguda SP Uma Shankar Das had raided the house of a worker of a political party. Investigation into the case is being carried out. The State Election Commission (SEC), Rabindranath Sahu had informed that the commission had earlier received a report from Jharsuguda and had also received another report from the district yesterday night. With the model code of conduct enforced in Odisha for the panchayat polls, SEC has instructed the collectors and SPs to take stern action against anyone involved in distribution of cash among the voters during the election.
