HSC Examinations: BSE allows 5 UTPs to sit for annuals

Cuttack, Feb 18: Today Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, the Controller of Examinations of BSE informed the media that the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will be allowing five under trial prisoners (UTPs) to appear in the annual HSC exams scheduled to start from Jan 28. They will be appearing in Regular, Ex-Regular and Correspondence courses. For them a Special Home has been allotted as a sub-centre that would function under the Angul High School examination centre. A deputy centre superintendent has been appointed for the same. The Board has also asked for special assistance from the Special Home authorities who inturn have assured to provide vehicle for the dispatch of question papers from the Angul High School examination centre for the five UTPs. A total of 6,05,064 students are appearing for the examination in around 2939 centres.

On asking about what advice he would be giving to students for examination which is just 10 days away to which he said that the Board has been continuously giving tips to the students via the print and electronic media.

Another question on being asked about the preparations taken by the Board to ensure smooth conduct of examinations to which Mohanty replied that emphasis is being given on the timely dispatch of question papers to the exam centres and safe return of answer sheets to the nodal centers.
