HSC Examinations to begin tomorrow in Odisha

Cuttack, Feb 27: The High School Certificate (HSC) examination would be starting in Odisha from tomorrow in which around six lakh students would appear at 2938 examination centres. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has arranged a three-tier security system to monitor the examinations. 6,08,070 students have filled up forms to appear in the examination in regular and ex-regular stream. The question papers for the first three papers have reached all the 295 nodal centres. The rest of the question papers would reach the Centres well before scheduled time. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the exam. All this was informed to media by the Controller of Examinations, Nihar Ranjan Mohanty. 57 squads have been prepared by the district administration in addition to 6 zonal-level squads and the Board has formed 36 special squads to have a check on malpractice, book erring students with their answers sheets with the attachment of requisite proof of malpractice and also to keep strict vigil on the invigilators encouraging malpractice. BSE authorities have turned police stations in Maoist-affected southern districts of Kandhamal, Koraput and Malkangiri into nodal centres to store question papers for the matriculation examinations.
