Bhubaneswar, Mar 9: The Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway which had been stated to get completed before Nabakalebara is still halfway done. The construction work started in the year 2015. A letter in this regard has been written to the State government by the Collector Aravind Agrawal requesting for alternative measures. Agarwal has stated that although the NHAI has appointed a construction company to complete the road work from Bhubaneswar to Puri, uncertainty still remains on the construction of the bypass road. Also, tourists pay toll fees at the Puri-Bhubaneswar NH-316 but they have also alleged that in spite of charging the toll fees, the road work progress is no where to be seen. While two lane work of Samjajpur Railway Over Bridge (ROB) is still incomplete, the two lane construction work from Harekrushnapur to Mangala Ghat has stalled. On the other hand road work from Mangala Ghat to Sterling Resort has not yet started. An agreement had also been signed in which it was stated that more trees would be planted as a huge amount of trees had been felled for the road construction work but not a single tree has been planted till date.
