Unable to repay loans, farmer allegedly commits suicide in Ganjam

Bhubaneswar, Mar 12: Unable to bear the loan burden a farmer identified as T Bulu Reddy of Chikarada Village in Ganjam allegedly committed suicide. Bulu had taken a loan of Rs 1 lakh for farming and Rs 1.5 lakh for his son’s treatment. As of sources, the unseasonable rains destroyed his crops, leading to which he consumed poison on Friday night. Though he was admitted to the MKCG Hospital in Berhampur, but he succumbed to his death while undergoing treatment.

After getting informed, kanisi tehsildar  Lalatendu Sahu reached Bulu’s residence to probe the case.  BJP Krushak Morcha activists also reached his residence after the news spread, and paid his condolences, and also demanded compensation for the family from the government, said sources.
